Sounds terrific right?!
Innovative, never seen before product? No :) But Anastasia’s palette is a well-played color scheme. I love how you get your pinks, browns, and some bold primary colors! No need to spend that extra time every morning looking for the perfect shade through your makeup stash.
As a pale skin girl, finding a nude color that would look flattering on me is a tough task. With this palette, it’s all fixed. I can add some white to make it lighter. Also, I can mix in another color to make it less peachy or brown. Oh, I was so thrilled to start using it!
The lipsticks don’t have any names. They are numbered. You have that plastic insert with numbers printed on it.
Now, let’s dig into details.
Don’t apply too much or it can get UGLY! My take on the palette and my experience.
Made of sturdy black plastic with a see-through lid. Feels solid. Travel-friendly hence the compact size. Comes with a spatula and a brush. And this brush is a keeper. Makes the whole lip contour process so easy and stress-free!
I had to get really close to the lipsticks to detect some smell. Couldn’t identify it, though. Doesn’t bother me at all since I don’t smell it actually. It’s nothing horribly stinky or too flowery or sweet.
Splendid color selection. Thanks to those primary colors you can go as light or dark as you wish and you can vary the color temperature as well. And just take a look at that purple! Gorgeous color. I can’t even point at one I did not like.
Such a nice formula. Glides on your lips. Sets to a satin matte or you can say creamy matte. Doesn’t set too fast. You have enough time to fix any mistake or to just apply another layer.
They feel comfortable on the lips. So lightweight. After having it on for 6 hours, I could feel my lips getting drier. But it is to be expected with any matte lip product.
I find the lighter lipsticks to apply less opaque. Definitely need a few layers. What you see in the pan is what you get on the lips. Very true to color and rich in pigment.
These lipsticks will not bleed or smudge. You can use them instead of a regular lip pencil to contour your lips.
The less product you apply, the better it looks on the lips! Applying too much leads to major creasing and peeling off with time (see the photo below).
My lips look decent for 5-6 hours. After that, I start noticing some fading and flaking.
Wears off nicely after I eat anything oily or greasy. Doesn’t move around. Just the more I eat, the more it fades.

THIS PALETTE IS NOT YOUR MUST HAVE ITEM.
I genuinely enjoy using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Palette every day. A great deal considering the variety of colors you get! Worth every penny IMO.
Now, do I think you absolutely need it?
- YES if you are a MUA or makeup enthusiast. Cause it’s an everyday struggle to find the perfect shade that matches your makeup look. This palette will make your life so much easier.
- NO, if you don’t experiment with your makeup. You stick to certain colors and you already have your perfect nude or whatever color.
I wish this palette would come with a mirror. In case you carry it with you and need a touch-up… A mirror would come in handy.
Another “complaint” of mine is the white color. I am using it way too often to create my perfect nude. I am sure I will run out of it pretty soon. If only it would be at least double the size…
Probably, Anastasia is coming with another lip palette. Because this one is labeled as Volume 1. I am assuming a Volume 2 will appear in the near future :) A neon one maybe? For spring and summer… We shall see.
Anybody else tried it already? What are your thoughts on it? I would love to read your experience!
