Yes! Covergirl did it! Best drugstore foundation! Thank you Tiffany D (popular youtuber) for your video review about this fabulous product. I am still so excited and fascinated that I am worried I am gonna miss something while writing my review…
So, I will start with the Ready, Set Gorgeous Foundation because this is what I got first from this line.
This Ready, Set Gorgeous Foundation line by Covergirl has 12 shades. Retails for $7 – $9 depending on where you get it. It has regular amount of product – 30ml (1 fl oz). The packaging is quite simple, plastic tube.
This foundation is quite watery, so you have to be careful while unscrewing the cap and pouring some of the product out.
What is so amazing about this foundation?
Well, I will start with this line color selection. I really like it. I got myself the lightest shade which is 105. This shade is great, it doesn’t have any pink in it, and it’s not too yellow. It’s a nice neutral color. I think I should of get the 115, it’s a little darker than this one, but it’s ok, I still can wear the 105 one too.
This foundation is oil free. That’s a huge plus for me. It applies very easy and even. You can use whatever tools you want to apply it, it will look gorgeous either way.
You get a nice, very natural looking finish. It’s not dewy and it’s not too matte. Feels like nothing on the skin.
The coverage is medium, buildable. It covers most of the imperfections on my skin. I have some redness which is completely gone with 2 very thin layers. Sometimes I am applying just one thin layer and I’m good to go, it happens when I am wearing almost no makeup. When you do have some drama on your eyes and lips your skin has to be perfect, so I do apply 2 layers if this foundation plus some concealer.
Lasting power is that wow factor about this Ready, Set Gorgeous foundation. It literally stays on all day, 10-12 hrs for me. I easily after 10 hrs of wearing it, apply a thin layer of powder on top and it looks like I’ve just applied it. I get some shine on my t-zone after having it on for 4-5 hrs, I’m just using my blotting paper and I’m good for another 4hrs… It doesn’t move anywhere, doesn’t smear, doesn’t crease… I do use powder on top of it, but f you have dry/normal skin you can even skip this step.
Covers my pores beautifully and it photographs really well.
Here is how it looks on me, no filter or what so ever is used:
I must confess that I am using Ready, Set Gorgeous Foundation by Covergirl a lot more often than my MAC Studio Fix Fluid which has been my favorite before I got this foundation. And I think these two are really alike. The MAC one has a little bit more dewiness and in terms of lasting power the Covergirl foundation beats it! I am not joking.
I am totally in love with it and obsessed…
After trying this fantastic foundation, I decided to go and get me a concealer from this line.
It retails for $6 – $8. My shade is the lightest one again – Fair. Comes in a standart concealer packaging with a doe foot applicator. You get 11ml (.37 fl oz) of product.
This is another great product from this Ready, Set Gorgeous line!
It conceals my purple-ish under eye area pretty good. The coverage of this concealer is medium. Let’s say if you have severe acne going on or some really bad acne scars, this one is not gonna cover them 100%. But I love it anyways. It lasts all day. And this is the very first drugstore concealer that doesn’t crease! I apply it under my eyes, blend and set it with a really thin layer of setting powder. And it won’t move! Well, I would get some creasing by the end of the day, but it doesn’t look all cakey… So, yeah, this is another must have for me from now on!
I think I am gonna get the Ready, Set Gorgeous Powder. And I am almost 100% sure I am gonna love it :) We’ll see :)
Here are the swatches on my hand.
By now, I think you already figured that I am in awe by these products. Such a quality from the drugstore… would never think I am gonna experience that. Covergirl excedeed my expectations. And I am so happy about it. Why would I spend $28 for a MAC foundation if I can get the same if not better for $7?!
