Very popular on the Instagram land – ColourPop Shock Shadow collection. Now I have a few of them too in my possession.
Besides the eyshadows I have ordered a highlighter and a brow pencil, but I decided to not mix all of them together in one post.
Packaging is very cute. It has all the info you need on it.
Colourpop Super Shock Shadow are made in U.S.A. and are cruelty free.
Each eyeshadow is 2.1 g / 0.07 oz. You pay $5 per pop.
You can buy them online only at colourpop.com
They come in plastic white containers with a see through lid on top.
Colourpop Super Shock Shadow line has a good variety of shades and finishes. It was so hard to choose only 5… But I didn’t want to get more because was not sure if I’m gonna like them or not.
The 5 eyeshadows I’ve got are: I Heart This, So Quiche, 3, Partridge, Eye Candy.
The formula of these Colourpop Super Shock Shadow is very different from anything I have tried before. It is cream to powder. So buttery and creamy. They glide on easily. It is recommended to apply them with your finger and that is what I have been doing.
They have a slightly noticeable fragrance. It doesn’t bother me. I didn’t have any reaction. Unless you smell them you will not detect that fragrance, it is not overpowering.
Super pigmented. Lasting power is phenomenal. Without any eyeshadow base they stayed on for 10+ hrs without creasing or fading. I did not have any fallout while applying them nor did I get any throughout the day.
Sometimes I use my Hakuhodo B004 brush when I want a more subtle look, with just a hint of sparkles. Or when I want to add some glitter on top of other eyeshadows.
Colourpop Super Shock Shadow are like no others. They are indeed my Holy Grail eyeshadows. You know how sometimes you apply your eyeshadows that have some fine glitter in them and once you apply them on your lid all those sparkles are somewhere on your face but not on your eyes… With the Colourpop Super Shock Shadow you will have your sparkles where you want them to be.
Colourpop Super Shock Shadow I Heart This (metallic finish) – it is a warm taupe champaign color loaded with sparkles. Majestic on its own or on top of any other eyeshadow. I’ve read that it is used as a highlighter too. I can’t see myself doing that because it is too glittery for my taste.
Colourpop Super Shock Shadow So Quiche (metallic finish) – very soft olive with ultra reflective gold and pink violet glitter. Very unique color. I like to apply it on my mobile lid, then a deep green in my crease and smoke it out. Makes a nice pop of glitter with any of my smokey eyes color choice. Highly recommend it.
Colourpop Super Shock Shadow 3 (metallic finish) – medium cool toned bronze with silver and multi-colored glitter. I like to use it for my bronze smokey or with any warm toned looks.
Colourpop Super Shock Shadow Partridge (pearlized finish) – reddish brown with green duochrome. This one is a high sheen shadow with no glitters. I actually ordered it by mistake. I have enough of such duochromes… So I am kinda mad with myself. Hopefully I will use it from time to time.
Colourpop Super Shock Shadow Eye Candy (metallic finish) – a cool toned pale lavender dipped in tons of silver and pink glitter! I love this color! I use it with mauves, purples, browns. It is so versatile. Another fav of mine.
Look what happens when I try to rub them off:
They are sweat proof and smudge proof!
None of these Colourpop Super Shock Shadow go in my crease. They are too glittery and another thing is that they set. If you want them in your crease for some reason, work fast. Once they set, you can’t blend them.
Honestly, I don’t know how they came up with such a magical formula and keep their prices affordable at the same time. Colourpop beats any high end company in terms of glittery/shimmery eyeshadows! I didn’t try any of their mattes yet. Hope I will not be dissapointed.
Do not leave them open for too long, once you’re done close it up tight. It may dry out and the product will not be that creamy and buttery.
See you very soon ;) Lime Crime e/s review coming up next! Stay tuned.
