I am obsessed with Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream just as much as I am with Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation. Overall, I like Covergirl foundations. More than that, some of them exceed the quality of many high-end foundations. This is already my second tube of Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream so it’s been tested to the fullest. It’s been through different weather conditions and all.
It doesn’t come in a lot of shades, unfortunately. My first tube was in 510 Fair, that’s the lightest. It was a tad light, so I went for the next shade in the range which is 520 Light. This time it was a little dark. Yep, I am that lucky. I would probably need both 510 Fair and 520 Light to get the closest match.
Also, Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream in 520 Light has too much pink for my neutral complexion.

My take on it:
Simple plastic tube yet my favorite. The nozzle on this is well made. If you’re not being too harsh, you will never waste any product.
Love the formula. Medium thickness. Applies evenly but you have to work fast. It sets pretty darn quick. A damp sponge is my tool of choice for this bad boy. It is buildable. Usually, one layer is good enough for me to even out my skin and then I can apply a little extra to cover up some of my acne scars.
The finish of it is very nice. Velvety matte. Looks natural if you are not overusing it.
Medium to full. With one thin layer I get light-medium coverage with another thin layer it is definitely a full medium. Neutralizes the redness on my face very well. I don’t need extra concealer around my nose with this foundation. It doesn’t blend well with my undereye concealer if I apply it after foundation. So what I do, I apply my under eye concealer first and then my foundation.
OIL CONTROL & LASTING POWER
That’s why I love it that much. Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream keeps me shine free for most of my day which is 6-8 hrs. I may get a little dewiness on my t-zone on the 6th-hour mark, but it doesn’t look oily. Wait, you know what’s the most exciting thing about this bb cream? It doesn’t separate by the end of the day. It fades a little on my chin, around my nose but it never separates or settles into fine lines! And Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream is the only one that performs so well on my skin.

All of the Korean bb creams I have tried before left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. No oil control at all. And they would just melt off my face within a few hours.
Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream exceeded my expectations!
You can rely on it to keep you shine-free and cover most of your flaws! I do not wear any primer with this bb cream. I just don’t need it. A little bit of MAC Studio Fix Perfecting Powder to set it and I am good.
You are not gonna enjoy it as much I do if you have any dry patches. It will emphasize them. Also, those with dry skin better skip it. It will dry out your skin even more.
There is one con to this little gem of mine… It does oxidize. And not by a little bit. I would say it looked darker in a few hours by 1-1.5 shades. Comparing to my neck, my face looks a lot darker and pinker. Next time I will get the 510 Fair, which is the lightest one. Even if it’s a little too light, in a few hours it becomes perfect. I just didn’t expect the 520 Light will be that much darker than 510 Fair. If you are very pale, I am worried that even the lightest shade might oxidize and look too dark on you.
