So, along with my Natural e/s palette by Hard Candy, I threw in my shopping cart a couple of the Hard Candy Eye Def Glitter Eyeshadows. I love using glitter in my eye makeups, and these liquid eyeshadows looked so packed with glitter that I couldn’t resist :)
There are so many gorgeous colors and I wanted to get them all, but I ended up getting three of them: #951 Smoking Gun (purple), #947 Mint and #421 What Sandy Says Goes.
They retail for $6 each.
I thought the concept of these Hard Candy Eye Def Glitter Eyeshadows is so cool. You don’t need glitter glue or any other product to apply your glitter.
But once I got home and tried them I was disappointed.
So, these glitter eyeshadows is not quite glitter. The Hard Candy Eye Def Glitter Eyeshadows are more like liquid eyeshadows with some glitter in it, and once it dries on your lids it rather has a metallic finish than glittery.
I tried to use them in a few different ways and I must say I don’t regret buying them no more.
First of all don’t apply them on a bare lid. Make sure you apply cream or powder eyeshadows underneath. Otherwise you won’t get it even. It will apply streaky.
Don’t overdo. You need a very thin layer on your lids. If you think you need one more layer, wait until the first one is completely dry. After drying they have a high metallic shine. Be aware of that, I know some people don’t like that.
Lasting power is good. They are smudge proof.
I don’t like using the Hard Candy Eye Def Glitter Eyeshadows as my main color on the lid, but as an accent or applying them on top of my black liner, works great! And it’s also a good glitter base or glue.
You see in those swatches how it’s not just straight glitter.
#421 What Sandy Says Goes – a pale golden beige with gold glitter.
#947 Mint – mint color with silver glitter
#951 Smoking Gun – deep purple packed with very fine pink glitter. This one is a little bit different, it applies more opaque and the glitter is a lot smaller than in the previous two. Looks great in smokeys.
Have you tried any of these glitter eyeshadows? What other colors would you suggest me to try out?
I do not regret getting the Hard Candy Eye Def Glitter Eyeshadows, but I think I will not repurchase them again. First of all, I think they will last me for quite a while using them the way I do. Secondly, I don’t think these are some products I can’t live without.
