L’Oreal came out with a new foundation Infallible Pro-Matte. I was dying to try it out. My combo skin type is definitely in need of mattifying products in this summer heat.
So, let’s take a look what it claims, its price and volume.

Now, what was my experience with this so highly rated foundation…
Definitely liked the packaging. It’s a tube, you can dispense as much or as little you need. Very sleek and compact. Beautiful packaging.
My color is 104 Golden Beige, and it was a good match for my skin tone, I could get a shade darker though, but I could make this one work too.
On the back of the tube you have the whole story. Its finish, lasting power, coverage and texture. You also get some tips on how to apply it to get better results.
The finish is demi-matte indeed. I’ve heard from so many youtubers that this one is flat matte but it is not true. At least not for me. Looks very natural. I use a little bit of powder on top too to set the foundation.
Next it says it lasts up to 24 hrs. I will have to disagree. One thing I don’t like about Infallible Pro-Matte is that it looks great on my skin for the first 3-4 hrs, after that my t-zone produces twice as much sebum as it would with any other foundation. I think it’s some ingredients that cause over drying, so my skin tries to recover and makes more oil than usual. After 6-8 hrs my t-zone looks like a disco ball already. I mean, I get oily after 6 hrs with any foundation on, but not as oily! It wears off nicely though, I don’t look patchy. So, as much as I would love the Infallible Pr-Matte in the first 3 hrs, I still choose the Covergirl Ready, Set Gorgeous Foundation in the long run. The Covergirl one is not as matte, but I don’t get as oily and shiny, it is not that drying and has better oil-control properties.
As to the coverage, no complaints here. It is stated as medium, I’d say medium to full coverage. Very buildable.
Air-light texture, you can’t describe it better… It applies so easy, feels like nothing on your skin. Sets pretty fast. And this is something I like a lot. I can apply my foundation before doing my eyes, and it can be a very dramatic smokey eyes, and even if I get some fall outs on my cheeks I am getting rid of them easily because the foundation is already set, it is not sticky.
Does a good job with my pores. It smooths the texture of your skin, and makes your pores disappear. Definitely looks good on videos and photos.
If you would like to try the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte foundation, I recommend you checking your local Walmart, that’s where you can find the lowest price for it.
I, personally, don’t think I will repurchase it. It makes me too oily after a short period of time and when I am out or at work I don’t want to be too bothered with all those touch-ups which are so much needed with this foundation.
And one more thing, the color selection is pretty poor I’d say. It is a total of 8 shades I think, at Walmart I’ve seen only 6 though. There are neutral and golden undertones.
Very curious how did it work for you? Were you amazed by its lasting power or was it a very short period of time super effect? Don’t hesitate to leave me a comment :)
See you soon.
