Haven’t have any brow products on my blog for so long. That’s only because I am still using my Anastasia Brow powder duo. But I couldn’t pass by this Maybelline Brow Define and Fill Duo interesting concept. It’s been released in 2014 I believe, but I’ve never seen it in my local Walmart, and that’s where I get most of my drugstore makeup.
This is basically a 2-in-1 product. You have the brow wax and the powder in a sleek and compact packaging. I went for the lightest shade which is 250 Blonde because I was planning to mix it with my Anastasia Brow Powder Duo, for some reason I don’t enjoy that medium brown no more, I find it a little bit too dark for my liking at the moment, it may sound weird I know.
Pretty much the Maybelline Brow Define and Fill Duo is a waxy pencil on one end and brow powder on the other, cool isn’t it?
Why You’ll Love It
Brows- meet the 1st defining and filling duo. An easy two-step application, using our .2 mm defining wax pencil to shape and mess-free filling powder to finish. Get ready to wow with a naturally full brow!
For Best Results
1. Define and set brows with the defining pencil, using short, light strokes
2. Fill brows using filling powder, following along natural brow contour
Price: ~ $7 (at my local Walmart)
The wax pencil actually has some color too. I would prefer it to be somewhat creamier, because it feels almost scratchy on the skin.
On the other end there is a sponge applicator. The brow powder is pressed into the cap and you have to dip the sponge to get some product on it. The powder transfers pretty easy on the sponge, no problems here. It doesn’t apply that opaque from the first application
My issue is that I don’t have really good, thick brows. This applicator makes it a little messy for me, I have to use some concealer to clean afterwards. So what I do, I am using my regular brush to finish the tail of my brows. Yeah, it’s a bit of a pain getting my brows on point with the Maybelline Brow Define and Fill Duo, plus it’s time-consuming. Usually, I don’t spend more than 5 mins on my brows.
Also, keep in mind that this color in particular 250 Blonde has a strong yellow undertone. It is a very warm blonde color. I don’t mind it now, because my hair color is a warm caramel brown and I’ve got some tan this summer. But if you are pale and you’re a cool toned girl, just skip this product, don’t even think to try it.
The Maybelline Brow Define and Fill Duo stays on my brows all day. It is not smudge proof though. The wax pencil does a decent job by keeping the hairs in place.
Will I repurchase it? No. Do I recommend it? Maybe… If you have thick brows and you don’t need to be super precise while applying the product, then this one may be handy for you. For those with thin or sparse brows, I can’t recommend you this brow definer unfortunately.
I will try more drugstore brow products. I know there is a lot out there… If you have any suggestions, definitely leave me a comment. I would appreciate it :)
See you very soon :)
