I just finished my L’Oreal Hydra Perfecte Loose Powder, so I was looking for a replacement. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to repurchase it. And here it is the new Maybelline Master Fix Setting Perfecting Powder.
I like the packaging. It is compact. It’s all plastic. Lightweight.
You get 0.21 oz /6g for $9.99
It is translucent. Works for any skin tone.
OK, so Maybelline Master Fix Setting Perfecting Powder promises you smooth and matte skin and blurred pores…
Now, what does it really deliver?
✓ It feels very silky and soft.
✓ YES it sets my makeup pretty darn good. You also get a soft focus effect thanks to its microfine translucent texture.
✓ It glides on my skin smoothing all the pores and the texture of my skin. It also absorbs any excess oils living a natural matte finish.
✓ Looks very natural. You don’t see it on your face. Once it sets, it is undetectable.
On the other hand, there are a couple things that should be mentioned in case you’re interested in buying Maybelline Master Fix Setting Perfecting Powder:
× I feel that my Maybelline Master Fix Setting Perfecting Powder is not gonna last me for a very long time. I am wasting a decent amount of powder each time I am using it. I love the fact that it is so soft and very fine, but it is everywhere once I open the lid…
× I use it as a finishing powder. That means I have to apply my regular pressed setting powder and only after that I apply a thin layer of the Maybelline Master Fix Setting Perfecting Powder. Otherwise, it just sets in all my fine lines and just does nothing for me. But as a finishing powder it is a great product.
× Not a very good job in the oil control department. I see oils picking through on my nose after 2 hrs. That was disappointing.
× Don’t use it as an under eye powder! It will ruin your day by settling in every bit of your under eye fine lines….
I have very mixed feelings about the Maybelline Master Fix Setting Perfecting Powder. I do not hate it but I don’t think I will repurchase it.
