I have a total of 24 Coastal Scents Hot Pots eyeshadows. It is not a humongous collection but it is enough to get an idea about these eyeshadows.
I went mostly for warm toned colors as I have enough taupes and mauves and dusty pinks already.

My take on it
Coastal Scents Hot Pots come in a few finishes: matte, shimmer/metallic, satin. I have all of them in my collection.
Their mattes are all so soft and blendable. I can’t name one I didn’t like. Apply evenly, no patchiness. They are not as buttery as some of the high-end eyeshadows would be. But not too dry. A little fallout didn’t bother me.
The shimmery/metallic eyeshadows are fabulous too. They are comparable to Makeup Geek foiled eyeshadows. Not exactly the same formula but very similar look when applied on the lids.
Satin eyeshadows are the ones that disappointed me. Crumbly texture. You have to use them with a damp brush or over a sticky base. They look gorgeous when swatched on my hand but not that pretty once applied on the lids.
For the price, there is nothing on the market that I could compare the Coastal Scents Hot Pots with. They are not the most ridiculously pigmented eyeshadows of course. But you definitely can build them up to the desired level of opacity and color.
Without an eyeshadow primer, I get average results. About 4-5 hours before they start fading a little. With a primer on, their lasting power increases by a few hours and I can have them on for 8+ hours.
Now, let me introduce my adorable Coastal Scents Hot Pots to you (drumroll):

I have a little of foundation on my arm as a base. With the brightest colors, I have used a white base so they show up better. Read the eyeshadows’ names from left to right
Coastal Scents Hot Pots. Final Thoughts.
My top 6 Coastal Scents Hot Pots:
- Harvest Brown
- Powder Pink
- Peach Fuzz
- Indigo Dream
Coastal Scents Hot Pots collection I didn’t like:
- Sand Dune
- Vanilla Sky
- Caramel Ice
I thought those neutral satins, I didn’t like, are gonna have some interesting hues and shifts. But in fact, they look… boring on me. Maybe on deeper skin tones they would show up and look better. But on my light skin, they just don’t look flattering. I didn’t get that shine I was hoping for.
I highly recommend trying the Coastal Scents Hot Pots. Especially the matte ones. The variety of colors and textures is gonna blow your mind. So many stunning shades to choose from. A lot of transition eyeshadows for any skin tone, literally. Just try them, you will not regret.
Keep an eye on Coastal Scents sales. That’s the best time to order those hot pots. You can get them up to 50%off.
