I haven’t heard about Pacifica until I got one of their eye shadow in my monthly ipsy beauty bag.
You can find Pacifica products at: Target, ULTA, Whole Foods and some other fine retailers near you.
The prices are decent. It is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. Their products have no such ingredients as: mineral oil, parabens, phtalates, petroleum, propylene glycol, SLS, gluten, peanut oil… I think that was worth mentioning since I know there are so many of us with really sensitive skin and who prefer cruelty-free makeup.
I have received this box with some of their products to try them out.
I got the Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes and Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream.
Pacifica Purify Cleansing Wipes retails for $6. It’s 30 pre-moistened wipes which are supposed to gently clean your skin, remove toxins, oils, pollutants and makeup. You don’t even need to use a toner, because the key ingredient – coconut water, it is a natural toner and a skin balancer.
I liked these wipes. They were really moist. In terms of makeup removing, not so good. I would still need to use my regular cleanser after these wipes because there definitely were some left overs of foundation on my skin. I tried to use them on my eyes, and it almost did nothing. I would say these wipes work well as a pre-cleanse step or after-cleanse. Can’t recommend them instead your trusted cleansing product.
And the 2nd product I got was Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream. This one retails for $16. It’s a 1 fl.oz / 30 ml tube. It’s an all-in-one product: illuminating, brightening and adjusting to your skin shade bb cream. From the description I was eager to try it.
The whole concept of this product was somewhat confusing to me. It says BB Cream but then at the same time it’s an illuminator, a primer, skin brightener… I’ve tried many bb creams before and none with so many properties at the same time :)
Anyways, I was expectating some magic I guess after reading all that.
This products has no coverage whatsoever. It is a liquidy, very shiny product with a golden tint. The golden tint is not strong but it’s there.
My camera couldn’t pick all that shimmery finish. But it is very strong believe me.
I tried it as a primer, and in 5 mins after I would apply my foundation, my face is just shimmer and sparkle :) It’s not a subtle glow, it is a very strong shimmery effect that would pick through your foundation and powder :)
I can see it used as a highlighter if you have medium to dark skin tone.
It has a lot of skin care benefits, like anti-aging, diminishing the appearance of pores, moisturizing and hidrating. But it’s a pity being so shiny and having that golden hue it is very limited in its use.
So, I think it is a nice illuminating product for medium/dark skin tones, but the description is very misleading. It is not a regular bb cream, not it’s a primer.
As for the brand itself it is absolutely worth checking out. It is new on the market. Cruelty-free. And it’s all mineral with no harsh ingredients for yor skin.
By the way what’s your favorite makeup removing wipes? I’ve tried couple of brands and none of them worked for me…. I would really appreciate for your feedback. See you in my next post.
