Review: Revlon ColorStay Foundation Normal / Dry skin 110 Ivory

Honestly, I had hard times using this foundation. There was a period of time when my skin was extremely flaky and this foundation made it look even worse…
But now as I got rid of flaky skin, I started using it again and now I can tell you my thoughts on this product.
Revlon ColorStay Foundation Normal / Dry skin 110 IvoryI will start by telling you that I’ve got a wrong colour, this one has a pink undertone which is so visible on my cool toned skin. Maybe I should pick the Buff, which is the next colour after Ivory… but not sure, as I read that it has a dirty yellow undertone.
Alright, after telling you my story, let’s move to the review itself.
This foundation comes in a glass bottle, so it’s pretty heavy! It has no pump! I am sure you will have a lot of waste product because of this, just like me.
There are standart 30ml and it has SPF15.
Dry skin 110 Ivory
I picked the Normal/Dry skin version as my skin is exactly like this. It is watery, moisturizing and emollient.
It has medium to full coverage, so you really don’t need a lot of product. I suggest you layering it, to avoid applying too much. In my case it is needed 15 minutes for this foundation to set. Then I apply a translucent powder. This way I have a dewy/satin finish.
It is said it stays on up to 16 hrs, well for me it works for 6-8 hrs maximum untill it starts to fade.
It tends to settle into my fine lines, even if I make sure to use a primer, so I definitely need some touch ups during the day when I’m using it.
I apply it with a damp sponge when I need a light coverage, and I’m using my Sigma F80 brush when I need a bit more coverage than usual. It blends easily.
It evens out my skin tone and combats my redness pretty well too, anyways a concealer is needed, especially if you don’t apply a thick layer of this foundation.
I take it off easily with my makeup remover, after that I wash my face with a gel cleanser and finish it with a micellar solution and a night cream. No clogged pores and break outs with me while using it
Attention to those suffering of flaky skin! I do not recommend this particular foundation to you! It will accentuate everything and even more… Definitely not your cup of tea.

This foundation would be my favourite if not the lack of a pump and a shade in between the Ivory and Buff!

It is available in a lot of drugstores and the variety of shades is impressive. Also it has another version for oily/combination skin!

The price may vary : 12-16$

  1. Really? You need touch ups? I find that it stays on pretty well! I guess it depends on everyone’s skin 🙂

You should check out PS Beauty. It’s a website that helps you select a perfect foundation for your skin type and color. It works wonders for me :).

  2. Nice review. I wish it had a pump too it would makeup it a lot easier to apply.

  3. Stacey MakeUp wow! loving the review…the combination/oily skin one is really good as i have seen Missglamorazzi if you know her rave about it…she says i don’t need a concealer this foundation covers up everything…:) personally, even i think that it should be having a pump as sometimes the liquid can come out in excess 🙂
