I’ve got this beautiful eye shadow palette by Too Faced as a gift, even though I am dying to try their blushes and I think their packaging is to blame for in the first place. Their design have that vintage touch and it looks very appealing to a girl’s eye :) I am no exception.
So, today’s post is about Too Faced Smokey Eye palette.
It comes in a standard box that repeats the design of the palette itself.
And this is how the palette looks like:
It is a palette consisted of 9 beautiful eye shadow. You can create a perfect smokey eye using any combination of colors from this palette. You also get a variety of textures.
A couple how-to’s cards included in case you’re struggling with combining the eye shadows. They may be very handy for beginners.
The colors are divided in three categories: Day, Classic, Fashion. This placement of shadows is a Too Faced staple. They do this thing in most of their palettes.
While all the shadows are pretty, I don’t find myself reaching for them very often. They are way too soft and powdery. And you can imagine that this “combination” results in a mess on your cheeks… Unfortunately, all Too Faced eye shadows (or at least 80% of them) I have ever tried or just swatched at the store, would behave the same. Yes, they are pigmented, they stay all day on my lids, but the fall out I get after my eye makeup is done… Sorry, Too Faced I can’t forgive you that.
I will show you the swatches of course. They all show up very good. The matte eye shadows Smokin Hot and Smolder are not that easy to work with, you definitely need to apply them little by little or you will end up with some dark spots on your lids.
My fave colors out of this palette would be Firefly and Cloves. Cloves is actually one of the most beautiful bronze-gold eye shadows I have in my collection.
If I am not mistaken the palette retails for $36.
I’d say there are better palettes out there. And unfortunately I have to say it is not worth the money. I am using it from time to time, but that’s just because I already own it and it was a gift from my sister so I can’t return it :)
