I was just applying my makeup yesterday and realized that I am using the same products for my eye lining all the time. I am repurchasing them and don’t even want to try anything else. That’s where the idea of this post originated from. I will share with you my Top 3 drugstore eye liners that won’t smudge or budge. What’s even most exciting, it’s all very affordable.
Let’s start with the liquid eye liner. I did mention in my previous post that even though I am not a big fan of Wet ‘n’ Wild , there is one product that makes me approach its display once a month… It’s the Wet ‘n’ Wild Mega Liner Liquid Liner in 861 Black.
There is nothing not to love about it! It’s all around amazing! I am madly in love with the applicator. The brush is thin and pointy. It is very opaque from the very first layer. And the finish is completely matte once it’s dried. Dries fast. Stays on my lids all day without cracking, smearing or fading. The price is another bonus, it’s only $2.93 at Walmart.
This eye liner is my absolute favorite liquid liner. It beats a hundred times the NYC liquid liner which is getting so much love from the beauty community and I still don’t understand why actually :)
Wet ‘n’ Wild has this liner in a couple more colors and also in a waterproof formula. Don’t even think to try those… They are not even nearly as amazing as this one in Black is. They lack pigmentation big times, and the waterproof formula has the felt applicator which I hate… Stay away from them please :)
My next favorite is an eye pencil by Rimmel. It’s the Exaggerate waterproof eye definer in Starlit Black 263. I love this pencil when I want a softer wing on my lids. Plus it is packed with very fine silver glitter, so it’s not just a flat black color. It never looks boring on the lids, even if you pair it with just a little bit of mascara and a nude lip.
Amazing staying power. No smudging or feathering. Applies very easy. It also has a sponge on the other end, so you can blend it for a softer look. A sharpener is included also, which is very handy.
The black is not the blackest black I’ve ever tried. It is more of a blackish grey to me, but I like it even more this way. The price is a little bit higher then its liquid fellow – $4.44 but it is still in the affordable range.
My only complaint would be the fact that you can break it easily. A little bit more pressure and its tip is gonna fall out… And the same is with the Rimmel’s Exaggerate lip liners. Anyways, it’s not that bad, so I keep repurchasing it.
And my 3rd must have is a gel liner. Without a second thought, L’Oreal Paris is the winner this time.
I’ve had it in two colors Espresso and Blackest Black. There is almost no difference between them. Espresso is such a dark brown that it’s almost a black. So you definitely don’t need them both.
The packaging is very neat. A glass jar and a plastic lustrous cap give it a professional look.
Quality wise it is my all time favorite gel eye liner. It is creamy. Lasting power on point. Applies evenly and opaque. What sets it apart from all the other gel eye liners, it doesn’t dry with time. I have the one is Espresso for almost two years and it’s still in a perfect condition. Its formula didn’t change. It is still creamy as it used to be… Love it, love it, love it! And it’s only about $6-7 at my local Walmart.
I do really recommend you the products I’ve mentioned above. If you’re looking for a long lasting eye liner just try one of my faves, depending on the formula you prefer. Or you can try all 3 and tell me what you think :)
Hope I was helpful somehow. See you very soon. Bye bye :)
