Finally I’ve got my hands on one of the most epic Urban Decay Naked 3.
I’ve purchased mine from Ulta for 52$.
The packaging is very chic and elegant. With all those ruffles…
I like that it’s of a dusty rose color with golden inscription on it. Looks so soooo appealing to the eye. I just would really like it even more if it wouldn’t be such a pain to open it, it really closes so tight.
You may know that all the eyeshadows in this Urban Decay Naked 3 palette have a rosy undertone. That being said, I highly recommend it to all the GREEN eyes girls out there. Your eye color will pop!
So the palette comes with 4 samples of Urban Decay primer potions instead of just one mini version of its Original primer potion. It says that one sample should last you a week of a daily usage. We’ll see.
I started using the Anti – Aging one and I must say that I didn’t like it at all. My lid feels so dry after that and if you applied it on the lower lid you may experience some troubles with your under eye concealer or foundation… This particular primer doesn’t work well with none of my concealer. Any liquid or creamy product would apply patchy, uneven… and just looks disgusting. Hope I will have a better experience with the other ones.
It also comes with a duo ended brush. I must confess that I mostly use the fluffier side cause it’s more versatile. You can blend your crease color with it, or apply your under eye concealer or any other creamy products because it is synthetic. I do use sometimes the other side to highlight my inner corner or to apply concealer on my blemishes.
You get a handy mirror inside too. Love it.
Now onto the swatches!
Didn’t have much luck with lightning while taking the pictures. The eyeshadows have more sheen to them, well I mean those satiny ones. Especially the deeper shadows didn’t come out as pretty as they really are.
The texture is nice. They apply smoothly and blend effortlessly. Color payoff is great. I have no troubles working with them. They stay on until I take my makeup off, that’s 8 hrs at least.
You have frosty color in this palette like Dust, shimmery – Buzz and Trick, satin – Strange, Burnout, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside and matte – Limit, Nooner. Blackheart is a matte soft black e/s with red micro-glitter.
I know there are many who didn’t like the e/s called Dust. Yes, it’s different in terms of texture, not as smooth as others, but if you will apply it correctly it may become your favorite one :) Dust e/s is almost like some pressed glitter. It doesn’t have much color to it, just some super sparkly pale pink particles. Use a sticky base and apply it with your fingers.
I’ve used it on my lid in my previous tutorial (click here for tutorial). Doesn’t it look gorgeous? :)
As to the lightest shade in this palette – Strange, I would prefer it to be a little more pigmented, it’s too sheer to be used as a highlighter on your brow bone, it’s almost invisible on my skin. It looks matte in the packaging but it is actually satin. I just use this e/s to blend any harsh lines and then I use another e/s to highlight my brow bone. I am not sure how it works on deeper skin tones though, but it definitely not the best highlighting e/s for fair/light skin tones.
I use this palette almost everyday. I can’t name any particular e/s as my favorite, I just have one which I use the most – Nooner. I think that’s because it’s such a great color for my crease. It’s a medium brown with a rosy hue that blends beautifully into my skin.
That would be it. I love this palette. It’s my favorite at the moment. I wouldn’t say that it’s the best palette in the world and nothing compares to it… I do think that Smashbox, Stilla, Benefit, Bobbi Brown… and a lot more actually, do a very good job too, I just picked up this time the Urban Decay’s palette and really enjoy it and don’t regret buying it. But next time I will definitely try something else, just because I love makeup and I love trying something new ;)
Hope to see you all very soon in my next post ;)
